The role of the Junior Designer:

Upwards is looking for a Junior Designer to join our Creative Team! This position will report to the Senior Graphic Designer and will collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and other key departments. The ideal candidate will assist in creating a wide range of digital and print materials, ensuring brand consistency and engaging storytelling across all platforms.

In this role, you will (job role and responsibilities):

  • Design: Create digital media assets, including social media posts, email templates, presentations, and marketing materials for multiple channels.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer and various stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver high-quality design solutions.
  • Sales Collateral: Assist in converting marketing and sales goals into visually captivating designs, including one-pagers, posters, business cards, and event materials.
  • Branding: Uphold and evolve the Upwards brand, ensuring consistency across all visual elements by adhering to style guidelines and templates.
  • Production: Prepare files for print and digital use, resizing and formatting assets for different platforms as needed.
  • Creative Support: Provide design support for special projects, taking rough drafts to polished, professional visuals with stakeholder input.
  • Tools: Work with design software including Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite to bring concepts to life.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accept and implement feedback.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bonus: Experience with motion graphics (After Effects, Premiere Pro) or UX/UI design.
